foinix

Foinix is a contemporary restaurant, serving traditional Greek small dishes, accompanied with wine and tsipouro from local small industries in Florina.

The concept recreates the essence of a traditional "kafeneio" which was the most popular cofeee - eating - drinking - gathering place in Greece during the past half century, together with newer additions which blend the the style with a more industrial and raw view. 

There is an extensive use of wood and marble, which converse with the shininess and cleanliness of the inox open kitchen and the semi transparent glasses and mirrors. The walls are not painted, rather they are covered in natural stucco, thus the only true color in the project is dominant brick like red kitchen ventilation pipe and the grey-green wooden ceiling, which also represents the most obvious reference to the traditional "kafeneio" .
